The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture within a multiperiod field system (CL009-013001-). Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. A suboval area (ext. dims. c. 32.8m E–W; 29.3m N–S) defined from NNW to SE by a drystone field wall which is built on top of a cashel wall. The cashel wall is reduced to a low mound (Wth 5-8m; H 0.6-1m) but traces of the outer wall-face are visible, except at N where it has been cleared outside the drystone wall. No other trace of the cashel wall survives; from SE to SW its line is indicated by a scarp and from SW to NNW another drystone wall mirrors its outline. The W part of the interior is higher than the rest and has an uneven surface. An L-shaped depression runs through the centre; its longer section (L 13m; Wth 2.5m; D 0.8m) extends ENE–WSW, then turns S at the W end (L c. 6m; Wth 2m) and peters out before the perimeter. It appears to be a gryke and is unlikely to be a souterrain as there is no evidence of drystone-walling or roof lintels. A structure (CL009-013017-) lies to the S of the depression. Two L-shaped sections of walling (L c. 6m each side) extending off the cashel at NE are probably later livestock shelters. There is another cashel (CL009-013009-) c. 48m to the NNW.
