Situated c. 25m NW of Cabhail Tighe Breac (CL009-001009-) in the SW corner of Cahermacnaghten townland. The foundations of a small stone building (ext. dims. 6.93m E-W; 4.71m N-S) were excavated in 2010 (Licence no. 10E146; Clutterbuck and FitzPatrick 2013, 24-5). The building measured 3.46m by 5.66m internally with clay-bonded walls (T 0.62-0.79m; H 0.18- 0.67m) constructed either on old ground surface or on roughly packed limestone or stony clay. The entrance (Wth 0.92m) was at the N end of the E gable and survived as a fractured threshold stone and a pivot stone, both of which were cut and punch dressed and appear to have been reused, most likely from Cabhail Tighe Breac. A radiocarbon date of 1631-1688 (UBA-15892) was obtained from animal bone recovered from a primary deposit in the interior. A relict field boundary immediately N of the building appears to have been part of a contemporary enclosure.
