The National Monuments Service's description

Listed as ‘Wedge tomb’ in the SMR (1992) on the basis of a small-scale distribution map of Clare in the Book of the Burren (1991, 65). Not listed in the RMP (1996). A description of a possible megalithic structure (SMR CL006-070----) by Coffey (1985, 31) 'on the shoulder of the hill between Gortaclare Mountain and Slievecarran' may refer to the same monument. The caption to a photograph included describes it as L 1.5m, Wth 0.5m. Not noted on a field inspection in 1997, it remains unlocated.
