The National Monuments Service's description

On level ground, very overgrown with dense hazel scrub. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996), and as only in Cragballyconoal townland. A very poorly preserved subcircular cashel (int. dims. 32m N–S; 30m E–W) defined by a low moss-covered spread of collapsed stone (Wth 1.7–4m; ext. H 0–0.8m; int. H 0.2–0.4m) with no obvious inner or outer facing-stones visible and no obvious trace of an original entrance. A later drystone-built townland boundary wall overlies the older enclosure line from N–SSE. The interior is level, apparently featureless but almost completely overgrown with hazel.
