The National Monuments Service's description
On a grassy terrace approximately midway up the NW-facing slope of Gortaclare Mountain with good views of Turlough Hill and the intervening valley. Listed as 'Potential Site Air Photo' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A circular area (c. 19.5m NW−SE; 18m NE−SW) defined by a very low, largely sod-covered stone bank/wall (Wth 1.5-1.8m) with large stones protruding randomly around its circuit. The enclosure spans almost the full NW−SE width of the terrace. Its NW arc coincides with the break of slope at the edge of the terrace and incorporates rock outcrop. A later field wall is built along the edge of the terrace and overlies the enclosure wall NW−NNE.
