Enclosure

On a generally level area of very overgrown scrub and woodland. Hachured as a rectangular enclosure on the 1840 OS 6-inch map. A rectangular area (36m NW-SE; 32m NE-SW) defined by a drystone wall (int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.2-1.5m; T 1.25m). The wall (Wth 2.2m; H 0.4m) has collapsed in places, particularly along the SE side, where it has tumbled inwards along the inside of a much later wall. The later wall (Wth 0.5m) is only a single stone thick and is built quite haphazardly. A small rectangular feature abuts the exterior of the enclosure at the NW end of the NE side. The interior is completely overgrown with hazel scrub and briars and is largely impenetrable, except around the perimeter. Two small hut sites (CL005-232---- and CL005-233----) are located in the S corner.
