The National Monuments Service's description

Situated immediately N of a circular cashel (CL005-160020-). A large subrectangular enclosure (58.5m E-W; c. 42m N-S) abutting a circular cashel (CL005-160020-) to the S. The enclosure is defined by straight walls at W, N and E forming well-squared corners at NW and NE. The E wall curves in at S to abut the circular cashel. The walls (max. Wth c. 1.2m; max. H c. 1.5m) are uncoursed, double-faced and rubble-filled. The central of three remaining well-formed sections along the E half of the N wall has an upright pillar forming the E side of a possible entrance. The interior comprises bare smooth exposed karst. A modern wall extends N-S through the W half of the enclosure and continues across the centre of the circular cashel. This enclosure with the above information was reported to the National Monuments Service by Tim Bowmer.
