The National Monuments Service's description
In elevated rocky pasture on the SE slopes of a hill with clear views from E to S and within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL005-160001-). A rectangular cashel (29m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a drystone wall (Wth 1.5m) reduced to a rubble spread (Wth 2-4m; H 0.4-0.7m) on the S side, and sections of the E, W, and N sides. Outer wall-facing survives on the N side (H 0.9m), E side (0.7-1.2m), and W side (H 0.7m). Inner wall-facing survives only on the N side (L 4m; H 0.9m). The E wall of the cashel is built along a natural limestone terrace, and the ground falls away sharply to the E. The location of the entrance is unclear. A souterrain (CL005-160039-) is present in the NE quadrant and there are hut sites along the interior of the W and S walls (CL005-160049-and CL005-160050-). A curvilinear boundary comprised of small slabs set on edge defines a slight depression in the SW quadrant. The SE corner of the cashel is truncated by a road.
