The National Monuments Service's description

In elevated rocky pasture, on a stretch of level ground with clear views in all directions, within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL005-160001-). Indicated on the 1916 OS 6-inch map, but not the earlier 1840 edition. A subcircular cashel (int. 20m N-S; 17m E-W) defined by a partially collapsed drystone wall (Wth 1.1m) with intermittently surviving inner and outer wall-facing. The outer wall-facing is best preserved at WNW (H 1.4m) and has been robbed out between the E and SSE. The inner facing is largely collapsed but a short stretch survives at the SSW (H 1m). There is a gateway (Wth 0.95m) in the SSE of the cashel wall with upright jambstones on either side. The interior is grass-covered and slopes gently down to S. Two animal pens abut the NE external wall of the monument, and three low mound walls radiate from it to the SE, SW and NW.
