In elevated pasture on a natural outcrop defined by a rocky ledge from S to W with commanding views from SSE to NW. Within an extensive field system (CL005-160001-). Indicated on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure, possible’ in the RMP (1996). A subcircular cashel (40.8m N-S; 40.3m E-W) defined by a grassed-over stone spread (Wth 1.5-2.45m; H 0.3-0.8m) with stretches of inner and outer wall-facing surviving intermittently. Internal wall-facing is present at the N (H 0.4m), E (H 1.4-1.6m), W to WNW (H 1m), and ENE. External facing is present from the E to SSE (H 0.7-1m). A later stone wall overlies the perimeter. A modern machine-made gap (Wth 2.6m) is at the SSW, with two partly blocked up gaps at the SE (Wth 1.1m) and SW (Wth 1.3m). A souterrain (CL005-160043-) lies within an oval area (c. 10m E-W) defined by a stone spread and abutting the interior of the cashel wall at N. Small pens in the SW interior and abutting the exterior at E are labelled ‘Sheepfolds’ on the 25-inch map.
