The National Monuments Service's description

On the slightly elevated SE-facing slopes of a steep boggy ridge surrounded by boggy grazing with good views from NE to S and with coniferous plantations to the NE, SW and W which limit visibility. Hachured on the 1915 OS 6-inch map.

A poorly preserved roughly circular area (est. max. dims. c. 29m E-W; c. 28m N-S) defined by an inner bank which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.8-1.2m; max. H 1.5m NW-N) and a fosse (Wth 3.2m; D 0.2-0.4m) visible as a drain from S to W. The fosse is defined by an enclosing bank at ENE and ESE (Wth 2.2-2.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.6m) which is reduced to a scarp from NNE to ENE (H 0.6-0.7m). A gap in the bank (Wth 3.5m) where it is best preserved at ENE and ESE may be an original entrance. A second fosse is indicated by rushes growing outside of the bank from NNE to ESE and a broad area in the ENE and from E to SE may be a third enclosing bank although much reduced. The interior of the site (int. dims. 22m N-S; 22m E-W) is sunken (D 0.2-0.4m) and waterlogged and slopes to the NE and E.
