The National Monuments Service's description
On the SSW-facing slope of a gentle ridge in an exposed area and within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL004-016001-). Hachured on the 1840 OS 6-inch map and indicated on the 1915 edition. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). Included in Bowmer’s (2019, 80) study of rectilinear drystone cashels constructed during the early medieval period.
A square cashel (30.5m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a drystone wall (Wth 0.65-1.5m; ext. H 1.1-2m; int. H 0.7-1.6m) which is best preserved at W and curves slightly in the NE corner. The walls at E and S may be of more modern construction. The interior of the cashel is flat. Another cashel (CL004-016021-) is located c. 40m to the SSW.
