The National Monuments Service's description

On the W shore of Pouldoody Bay with two small inlets to E and WNW appearing to form natural, but tidal, landing points and higher pastureland rising gently to the S. A poorly preserved wall surviving to W and E of ‘Muckinish Castle’ (CL003-008002-). To the E the surviving remnants (max. H 0.8m; Wth 0.7m) extend N–S (L c. 18m) and turn W at N for 4.5m forming a NE corner. Its inner face is robbed to foundation level and its outer face is composed of large and very irregular undressed blocks and boulders. Two equally poor but slightly thicker lengths of the W wall survive (N section L c. 8m; S section L c. 3.5m; Wth 0.9m). The entire projected bawn would have enclosed an area of 20m+ N–S x c. 17m. A small rectangular building (CL003-008003-) stands at the SW corner.
