The National Monuments Service's description

Immediately outside and partially under a rectangular graveyard wall (CL002-008002-), c. 6m NE of its SE corner. The graveyard is in the SW of a large poorly preserved ecclesiastical enclosure (CL002-008001-). One of two middens noted in the area (pers. comm. T. Coffey, 1994). A badly disturbed shell midden (L 7m; Wth 3.2m; H 0.9m) composed of c. 90% cockle, 5% periwinkle and 5% oyster shells, visible in a section c. 1m SE of the graveyard wall. The second previously recorded midden (CL002-008006-) remains unlocated.
