Concédé dès 1848, le domaine sucrier d'(H)ajangoua (470 ha) est l'un des plus anciens de Mayotte. Les restes de l'usine, visibles depuis la route entre Dembéni et Bandrélé, comprennent un ensemble imposant de trois chaudières, un moteur à vapeur, une batterie de Gimart, des hydroextracteurs, trois cheminées et les vestiges d'une installation plus ancienne. A proximité subsiste la maison du maître. L'usine a fermé définitivement en 1898 et fut mise en vente en 1902.

History
Granted from 1848 onwards, the sugar estate of (H)ajangoua (470 ha) is one of the oldest in Mayotte. The remains of the factory, visible from the road between Dembéni and Bandrélé, comprise an imposing ensemble of three boilers, a steam engine, a Gimart battery, hydroextractors, three chimneys and the vestiges of an earlier installation. Nearby subsists the master's house. The factory closed definitively in 1898 and was put up for sale in 1902.
