Durant la première décennie du règne de Napoléon III, Saint-Denis se dote de bâtiments publics et de maisons particulièrement remarquables. Caractéristique de l'architecture officielle, le château Morange est une réalisation majeure de cette période. Les plans de la maison, située sur un terrain d'environ 7 hectares, sont confiés à Victor Frappier de Montbenoît. Terminée en 1861, elle fait l'objet de la description suivante sur un acte de propriété datant de 1924 : il s'agit d'une grande maison construite en pierres couverte en métal avec cour intérieure et galeries circulaires, connue sous le nom de Château. Elle est entourée de dépendances, au sud, comprenant deux corps de bâtiments en pierres couverts en tuiles, de deux pièces chacun. A la suite, se trouve une grande longère en bois couverte en tuiles puis deux écuries construites en pierres.

History
During the first decade of the reign of Napoleon III, Saint-Denis acquired public buildings and private houses that were particularly remarkable.
