Située dans le premier secteur construit de la ville de Saint-Pierre, c'est une des rares maisons à ne pas avoir été modifiée depuis sa construction au 18e siècle. Seuls ses décors intérieurs ont disparu. Sa vocation initiale était celle d'une maison de commerce : elle a servi de dépôt central des rhums en 1913. Elle est donc édifiée perpendiculairement à la voie publique et non pas au centre de la parcelle comme les autres maisons d'habitation.

History
Located in the first built sector of the town of Saint-Pierre, it is one of the rare houses not to have been modified since its construction in the 18th century. Only its interior décor has disappeared. Its initial purpose was that of a merchant house: it served as the central rum depot in 1913.
