Etablissement de charité construit en 1897 sur un terrain appartenant à la fabrique Saint-François. Sa vocation d'accueil pour les plus démunis a perduré jusqu'à nos jours. Le bâtiment est construit en bois selon un plan en U. Il se compose de douze pièces, plus la chapelle située dans l'aile nord-est. L'accès à la cour, pavée de pierre volcanique, se fait par un escalier en pierre de cinq marches. Cet ensemble est un exemple unique de ce type d'installation charitable aux Antilles. L'édifice a été détruit en totalité suite à un incendie.

History
