Historique
Le club fut édifié pour répondre au concours lancé en juin 1966 par François Missoffe, ministre de la Jeunesse, des Sports et des Loisirs, pour doter la France de mille clubs de jeunes. Le club édifié par Jean Prouvé marque l'aboutissement de sa réflexion initiée en 1950 sur la coque monobloc où une même structure préfabriquée forme à la fois la toiture, le plafond et la paroi. Chaque bâtiment est constitué de travées formées de deux demi-arcs assemblés au faîtage. L'arc est formé d'un sandwich : la surface en aluminium légèrement ondulé pour le ruissellement et la sous-face en contreplaqué enserrent un châssis en bois et mousse isolante. Il est claveté au sol dans des rigoles recueillant les eaux pluviales, assemblées par des boulons qui compressent un joint Néoprène assurant l'étanchéité. Les deux structures de longueur inégale sont reliées par une passerelle interne à l'origine, remplacée. A l'intérieur, la double hauteur de cinq mètres permet une grande modularité avec installation de mezzanine. La voûte fonctionne comme un abri rythmé par les détails du montage. Les modules d'époque sont conservés : bar, vestiaire, sanitaires, ainsi que les escaliers, démontés. Le bâtiment a été transformé : modification de la passerelle, ajout d'une travée formant auvent pour la plus petite des structures, pose d'allèges en bois.

The club was built to respond to the competition launched in June 1966 by François Missoffe, Minister of Youth, Sports and Leisure, to provide France with a thousand youth clubs.
