History
The housing estate was constructed between 1930 and 1934 by associated architects Dubreuil and Hummel. This ensemble of 600 social housing units in brick, influenced by Viennese architecture of the beginning of the 20th century, was realised at the request of the Departmental Office of HBM. Following the model of closed housing estates, the HBM are distributed along a great axis punctuated by a central amenity square, four main courtyards and numerous secondary courtyards connected to one another by porches and barrel-vaulted passages. Seven shops have been distributed around the perimeter of the housing estate.
