Historique
Une commanderie de l'ordre de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem fut fondée en 1192 sur un lieu templier. Rien ne subsiste du passé médiéval ou hospitalier de la commanderie. Du 18e siècle demeure un petit pavillon carré intégré dans un vaste parc avec parterres à la française et disposé devant un bassin avec allées plantées. Les quatre façades présentent la même ordonnance avec un décor sculpté de frises, guirlandes, fruits, fleurs, trophées, motifs de vénerie et halieutiques. Ce petit pavillon, qui annonce le goût des folies, reste un cas unique dans l'Yonne. Le château, de plan barlong, a été remanié. Le fronton de sa façade abrite un bas-relief en terre cuite apparenté à l'oeuvre de Clodion.

History
A commandery of the order of Saint-Jean de Jérusalem was founded in 1192 on a Templar site. Nothing subsists of the medieval or hospitaller past of the commandery. From the 18th century remains a small square pavilion integrated into a vast park with parterres à la française and arranged in front of a basin with planted alleys. The four façades present the same arrangement with a sculptured decoration of friezes, garlands, fruits, flowers, trophies, motifs of hunting and fishing. This small pavilion, which announces the taste for follies, remains a unique case in the Yonne. The château, of elongated plan, has been remodelled. The pediment of its façade harbours a bas-relief in terracotta related to the work of Clodion.
