Historique

History
The asylum was established in 1840 at the location of the former general hospital. Enlarged in 1860. The whole was designed by Doctor Girard de Cailleux, according to the innovative principles of a pavilion hospital. The establishment consists of a series of pavilions of two storeys separated by planted courtyards and arranged parallel around a central building housing the administration and the chapel. The pavilions are connected by covered galleries supported by columns or pilasters of neo-classical inspiration. At the eastern extremity, are located the two pavilions which served to house the cells of the agitated.
