Historique

History
In the 1860s, a château replaced an old seigneurial fortified house from the mid-15th century, of which a section of wall and the vestiges of two turrets remain. Camille-Etienne Appay remodelled the site and had a main dwelling, outbuildings and agricultural dependencies rebuilt. From 1877 to 1880, construction and then enlargement of a new main dwelling. In 1893, Albert Paintendre gave the site its present appearance: landscaped park in 1893 by Nivet; neo-gothic gatehouse; extensive stables. Further enlargement of the main dwelling around 1897-1900 into a Louis XIII style building with multiple sections executed by architect Jules Martin, who also designed the orangery (1905) and the neo-rustic pavilion (1907). The overdoors of the dining room were painted by Henri Tayan in 1899.
