Cette ancienne chapelle de la première moitié du 12ème siècle faisait vraisemblablement partie des bâtiments d'un prieuré, dépendance de l'abbaye de Bourg-Dieu, dans l'Indre. Elle était placée sous le vocable de la Sainte-Vierge. Il s'agit d'une chapelle à nef unique et pourvue d'une abside pentagonale, d'une belle charpente du 15ème siècle ainsi que de chapiteaux remarquables témoignant de l'aisance de la communauté. Ces chapiteaux en calcaire du 12ème siècle sont situés dans l'ancienne abside et son portés par une demi colonne plaquée contre la paroi. Le chapiteau sud représente la tentation du Christ. Sur l'autre face, sont figurés le diable, le Temple de Jérusalem, le Christ dans une mandorle qui rejette la proposition « si tu es le fils de Dieu, jettes -toi d'ici en bas ». Entre les deux scènes, un ange déploie ses ailes. Le chapiteau nord décrit deux épisodes de la délivrance de Saint-Pierre. L'ancienne chapelle fut vendue comme bien national après 1791

History
This former chapel from the first half of the 12th century was probably part of the buildings of a priory, a dependency of the abbey of Bourg-Dieu, in the Indre. It was placed under the patronage of the Holy Virgin. It is a chapel with a single nave and furnished with a pentagonal apse, beautiful roof structure of the 15th century as well as remarkable capitals witnessing the prosperity of the community. These capitals in 12th-century limestone are situated in the former apse and are borne by a half-column set against the wall. The south capital represents the temptation of Christ. On the other face are depicted the devil, the Temple of Jerusalem, Christ in a mandorla which rejects the proposal 'if you are the son of God, cast yourself down from here'. Between the two scenes an angel unfolds its wings. The north capital describes two episodes of the deliverance of Saint Peter. The former chapel was sold as national property after 1791.
