History
In 1644, the new owners decided to build a château conforming to the architecture of that century in replacement of a building of medieval origin. In 1887, the architect Cléry was commissioned to carry out modifications, realised in 1888. The orangery is demolished, formerly situated in the alignment of the south-west wing of the main dwelling and connected by a wall to the chapel in front of the courtyard of honour. This chapel existed in 1743. A gate joined to the corner of the north-west tower marked the passage between the courtyard of honour and the courtyard of the service buildings. The orangery is rebuilt further away, to the south of the main dwelling, in 1899. A greenhouse is placed against the south elevation at an indeterminate date. The date 1899 is indicated on the service buildings. There existed a kennels which has disappeared, a laundry with two drying rooms. The dovecote was connected to the barn. These service buildings formed a courtyard which opened by a porch on to the path which connected la Guéronnière to la Jonchère. There also existed a large tower in the courtyard of the service buildings, which was demolished in 1930. French gardens developed as far as the river. Near the river, is found a Bollé ram dating from 1877, which supplies water to the château. The roof spaces were tiled with tommettes and served as a place for storing grain.
