History
Lapidary collection assembled in the 1920s by Henri Aymard, notary at Loudun. These sculptures, mostly Romanesque, come from sites near Loudun, notably from the priory of Saint-Jean du Bas-Nueil at Berrie and from the church of Notre-Dame de Guesnes. One of the buildings housing the collection is probably from the 17th century, the other dates from the 20th century.
