Il fait appel aux architectes Edmond Guillaume puis Arsène Charier, dont il modifie les plans pour aboutir à une maison relativement classique à l'extérieur, malgré quelques touches antiquisantes, comme le médaillon en terre cuite à profil féminin, ou la pergola. Le décor intérieur est librement inspiré des voyages du peintre. La prédominance de l'Italie et de la Grèce au rez-de-chaussée, laisse place progressivement à l'art islamique et à des motifs japonisants.

History
After a trip to Italy, Greece and Turkey, Félix Lionnet, student of Corot, settled in Vendée and had a house built for himself. He appealed to the architects Edmond Guillaume then Arsène Charier, whose plans he modified to achieve a relatively classical house on the outside, despite some antique touches, such as the terracotta medallion with female profile, or the pergola.
