En 1790, le dernier seigneur du Barroux refuse d'ouvrir son moulin aux habitants. Le conseil de la commune décide d'établir un moulin dans un local lui appartenant, une ancienne boucherie en rez-de-chaussée de la maison commune. En 1792, le conseil communal décide de le réparer et de l'agrandir. Le moulin ouvre pour la récolte de l'hiver 1792, et est donné à ferme. Il fonctionne jusqu'en 1853. Le moulin présente un volume divisé en deux par un pilier recevant les voûtes d'arêtes qui couvrent les deux espaces. Dans la première partie se trouve le moulin à sang, complet. Dans la seconde, dans le mur du fond, sont pratiquées trois grandes arcades surbaissées ayant chacune contenu deux pressoirs à chapelle. Seule la chapelle centrale conserve auojurd'hui une vis complète. Au pied de chaque pressoir se trouve le conquet de pierre qui recueillait l'huile. Deux grandes cuves en pierre, à l'intersection des deux zones, recevaient l'huile pour la décantation. A droite du moulin, dans une pièce indépendante autrefois partie du moulin, se trouvait vraisemblablement un second moulin à sang, dont subsiste la meule fixe.

History
In 1790, the last lord of Barroux refused to open his mill to the inhabitants. The council of the commune decided to establish a mill in a premises belonging to it, a former butchery on the ground floor of the town hall building. In 1792, the municipal council decided to repair and enlarge it. The mill opened for the harvest of winter 1792, and was leased. It operated until 1853. The mill presents a volume divided in two by a pillar receiving the groined vaults that cover the two spaces. In the first part is found the complete blood mill. In the second, in the back wall, are three large depressed arches each having contained two chapel presses. Only the central chapel retains today a complete screw. At the foot of each press is found the stone trough which collected the oil. Two large stone vats, at the intersection of the two zones, received the oil for decantation. To the right of the mill, in an independent room formerly part of the mill, was probably a second blood mill, of which the fixed millstone remains.
