La construction du phare se déroula de 1861 à 1863 d'après les instructions de l'architecte et ingénieur Léonce Reynaud. Bâti en pierre de cassis, le phare se compose d'un bâtiment rectangulaire contenant deux logements ainsi que d'une tour carrée demi hors oeuvre au centre de la façade antérieure. Le phare sera électrifié et automatisé en 1976.

History
The construction of the lighthouse took place from 1861 to 1863 according to the instructions of the architect and engineer Léonce Reynaud.
