La gare fut construite sur la ligne de chemin de fer Limoges-Toulouse. Si elle ne présente pas de caractères architecturaux remarquables, son intérêt réside dans sa dimension mémorielle et historique puisqu'elle fut le témoin de l'arrivée, entre le 5 et le 12 mars 1939, de 16000 soldats de l'armée républicaine espagnole venant des camps d'internement de la Côte Vermeille et destinés à être internés au camp de Judes à Septfonds où beaucoup d'entre eux périrent.

The station was built on the Limoges-Toulouse railway line. While it does not present remarkable architectural features, its interest lies in its memorial and historical significance since it was the witness to the arrival, between 5 and 12 March 1939, of 16,000 soldiers of the Spanish republican army coming from the internment camps of the Côte Vermeille and destined to be interned at the camp of Judes at Septfonds where many of them perished.
