Gare néo-18e construite en plusieurs étapes, entre 1858, date d'ouverture de la ligne Capdenac-Montauban, et 1883, date de son achèvement. Le trafic était, à l'origine, alimenté par la production des centres sidérurgiques et miniers d'Aubin et Decazeville, ainsi que par l'exploitation des carrières de pierre de Lexos. En 1864 est mise en service la première ligne Paris-Toulouse, via Capdenac. Au début des années 1880, l'ouverture d'autres lignes pour rallier Paris marque le déclin de cette station.

History
Neo-18th century station constructed in several stages, between 1858, the date of opening of the Capdenac-Montauban line, and 1883, the date of its completion. Traffic was originally supplied by the production of the iron and mining centres of Aubin and Decazeville, as well as by the exploitation of the stone quarries of Lexos. In 1864 the first Paris-Toulouse line is put into service, via Capdenac. In the early 1880s, the opening of other lines to reach Paris marks the decline of this station.
