History
Situated between Toulouse and Castres, Puylaurens played a primordial role in the history of Protestantism in the 16th and 17th centuries by virtue of its role as a stronghold, essential during the Wars of Religion. The town welcomed the Protestant theological academy driven out from Montauban and became an intellectual centre.
Description
The first temple was attached to the church. It was replaced by a market hall in 1754. The temple was rejected to the west of the town, rue Foulinou at the edge of the rampart line.
