History
The construction of this town hall, in Art Deco style - of which the hall of honour, decorated with paintings by Picot, and the staircase of honour are particularly representative - was undertaken in 1928 under the direction of architects Charles Duval and Emmanuel Gonse. Influenced by the neo-regionalism which inspires this brick building adorned with crow-stepped gables and patterns of over-fired bricks, it also offers contemporary touches with, in particular, concrete sculptures by Couvègnes.
