Historique
La seigneurie de Verneuil est attestée dès le Moyen-Age. Le château, remanié à plusieurs reprises, est adapté au goût de l'époque par l'architecte Jacques-Denis Antoine, entre1782 et 1786. Le parc est redessiné à l'anglaise par Vital Vial entre 1806 et 1808. En 1929, le domaine est acquis par la Congrégation Notre-Dame et une école privée catholique est installée par les religieuses enseignantes. La construction d'une vaste chapelle est alors entreprise et sera confiée à l'architecte Jactat, les frères Mauméjean étant chargés de la décoration. L'édifice est inauguré en 1935 et dédié au Christ-Roi.

History
The seigneury of Verneuil is attested from the Middle Ages. The castle, remodelled several times, was adapted to the taste of the period by architect Jacques-Denis Antoine, between 1782 and 1786. The park was redesigned in the English manner by Vital Vial between 1806 and 1808. In 1929, the estate was acquired by the Congregation of Notre-Dame and a private Catholic school was established by the teaching religious sisters. The construction of a vast chapel was then undertaken and was entrusted to architect Jactat, the Mauméjean brothers being responsible for the decoration. The building was inaugurated in 1935 and dedicated to Christ the King.
