En 1849, le duc d'Uzès fait construire à Bonnelles un nouveau château, confortable et moderne, selon les plans de l'architecte Joseph-Antoine Froelicher. Le château offre de nombreuses références historiques avec l'emploi de la brique et de la pierre, de cuirs, de médaillons, de baies en plein cintre ainsi qu'un parement en meulière ocre jaune et ocre brun. Il est composé, à l'origine, de deux bâtiments dissymétriques reliés par une serre adossée à une galerie. A partir de 1933, il sera vendu à deux reprises pour devenir, en 1966, le collège Charles de Foucauld. Il passera par la suite de mains en mains puis sera progressivement laissé à l'abandon.

History
In 1849, the Duke of Uzès had a new castle built at Bonnelles, comfortable and modern, according to the plans of the architect Joseph-Antoine Froelicher. The castle offers numerous historical references with the use of brick and stone, leather, medallions, round-arched openings as well as a facing of ochre-yellow and ochre-brown millstone. It is composed, originally, of two asymmetrical buildings connected by a conservatory attached to a gallery. From 1933 onwards, it was sold twice to become, in 1966, the Charles de Foucauld college. It subsequently passed from hand to hand and then was gradually left to decay.
