La maison de fer, oeuvre de Bibiano Duclos, fut bâtie à la fin du 19ème siècle selon un brevet de construction visant à produire en série des « maisons démontables ». De fait, elle fut installée à trois endroits différents avant d'occuper son emplacement actuel, en 1935. La paroi extérieure non porteuse est en tôle de fer tandis que la paroi intérieure est en lattes de bois. Les tôles sont simplement emboitées et maintenues par un système de clavettes. La maison comporte quatre niveaux et présente une élévation ordonnancée avec travée centrale couronnée par un fronton.

History
The iron house, a work by Bibiano Duclos, was built at the end of the 19th century according to a construction patent aimed at producing in series "demountable houses". In fact, it was installed at three different locations before occupying its current position, in 1935. The non-load-bearing external wall is made of sheet iron while the internal wall is made of wooden laths. The sheets are simply interlocked and held by a system of clevis pins. The house has four levels and presents an orderly elevation with a central bay crowned by a gable.
