La construction de cette église fait partie du programme de réaménagement de la place du Vieux-Marché, qui comprend également la construction d'un parking souterrain, d'un marché couvert et d'un monument dédié à Jeanne d'Arc édifié en 1929 par Maxime Real Del Sarte. History
The construction of this church is part of the redevelopment programme of the Place du Vieux-Marché, which also includes the construction of an underground car park, a covered market and a monument dedicated to Joan of Arc erected in 1929 by Maxime Real Del Sarte. The church designed by Louis Arretche is put under construction in 1975 and consecrated on 29 April 1979. Partially buried in the ground, it is built on a complex plan with the altar at the centre. The structure is reinforced concrete; the covering of the nave is formed by the juxtaposition of two parabolas made of laminated-glued timber framing supported by an armature of metal tubes. Thirteen stained glass windows of the 16th century from the church of Saint-Vincent have been set into the north wall of the church, which offers an exceptional example of the integration of ancient stained glass in a contemporary building.
