Historique
Cette église a été construite de 1924 à 1926 par lentrepreneur Georges Lanfry sur des plans des architectes Georges Feray de Dieppe et Louis Filliol, à linitiative du sociologue Laborde-Noguez, en complément de lexpansion du quartier ouvrier de Janval situé sur les hauteurs de Dieppe. Larchitecture de léglise adopte un parti régionaliste. Le motif en damier en petit appareil de brique dissimule lossature en béton. Elle comporte un clocher-porche, trois vaisseaux donnant sur une abside avec déambulatoire, un transept saillant et une crypte sous le chur. Un petit cloître intérieur dessert la sacristie. Lensemble est complété par un presbytère de même style. Cette église est traitée sur un mode plus traditionnel que l'église Saint-Jean-Eudes de Rouen, construite à la même époque et dans un contexte similaire, aussi bien dans le plan, le parti formel que dans l'emploi réduit et dissimulé du béton.

History
This church was built from 1924 to 1926 by the contractor Georges Lanfry on plans by the architects Georges Feray of Dieppe and Louis Filliol, at the initiative of the sociologist Laborde-Noguez, in complement of the expansion of the workers' district of Janval situated on the heights of Dieppe. The architecture of the church adopts a regionalist parti. The chequered motif in small brick courses conceals the concrete framework. It comprises a porch tower, three naves opening on to an apse with ambulatory, a projecting transept and a crypt under the choir. A small interior cloister serves the sacristy. The whole is completed by a presbytery of the same style. This church is treated in a more traditional manner than the church of Saint-Jean-Eudes of Rouen, built at the same period and in a similar context, both in plan, formal parti and in the reduced and concealed use of concrete.
