Historique

History
Parisian architect Pierre-Edouard Dumont secured the collaboration of architect Henri Toutain to build from 1886 to 1894 the entrance pavilion of his castle, which he made into a lodge-library. The principal elevation is arranged according to the model of the Arco de Santa Maria de Burgos, built by Charles V around 1536. The sculptural decoration is Renaissance in inspiration (columns with Corinthian capitals surmounting attached pilasters, gargoyles, finials, banner holders in ironwork, etc.). The metal structures of the roof are by Gustave Eiffel. The main dwelling was never actually built. The building was restored in 1996.
