Construite en 1883 pour la Garde Républicaine, la caserne Schomberg est l'oeuvre de l'architecte Joseph Bouvard. L'ensemble se compose de huit bâtiments ; un pavillon central divise la cour en deux. Novateur à l'époque, un système de tout-à-l'égout est installé avec deux circuits d'eau. Le mode de construction est une armature de fer avec remplissage de briques. En 1901, une école d'élèves-officiers de gendarmerie est installée dans ces locaux. Aujourd'hui, seuls subsistent trois bâtiments disposés en U autour d'une pelouse. Seul le bâtiment central a conservé ses volumes d'origine, façades et toitures et son escalier central.

History
Built in 1883 for the Republican Guard, the Schomberg barracks are the work of architect Joseph Bouvard. The complex consists of eight buildings; a central pavilion divides the courtyard into two. Innovative for the time, a complete sewage system is installed with two water circuits. The mode of construction is an iron framework with brick infill. In 1901, a school for gendarmerie officer cadets is installed in these premises. Today, only three buildings remain arranged in a U-shape around a lawn. Only the central building has retained its original volumes, facades and roofs and its central staircase.
