History
The construction of this church is the consequence of the increase in population in the Marais. Its architecture fits within the current of Roman basilicas which were very fashionable around 1840. It was opened for worship in 1829 and consecrated in June 1835. The execution of the interior and exterior decoration, sober and homogeneous, took place in two phases: from 1838 to 1847 for the mural paintings and external pediment; under the Second Empire for the sculptures of the porch and the decoration of the chapels.
