Historique
La paroisse de Concise est citée en 1250 dans une bulle du pape Innocent IV. Au début du 15e siècle, l'église est agrandie d'une travée. Une chapelle consacrée à saint Michel est également construite. En 1536, lors de l'occupation bernoise, l'église est tellement dégradée que le culte n'y est plus pratiqué jusqu'au retour du catholicisme en 1598. En 1621, elle est réparée et agrandie sur odre de saint François de Sales, venu recatholiciser le Chablais. History
The parish of Concise is cited in 1250 in a bull of Pope Innocent IV. At the beginning of the 15th century, the church is enlarged by one bay. A chapel dedicated to Saint Michael is also constructed. In 1536, during the Bernese occupation, the church is so degraded that worship is no longer practised there until the return of Catholicism in 1598. In 1621, it is repaired and enlarged on the order of Saint Francis of Sales, who came to recatholicise the Chablais. In 1630, the original dedication to Saint John the Baptist is replaced by that of Saint Sebastian (this change is said to have occurred following an outbreak of plague). In the 19th century, the church becomes a chapel.
