La chapelle se situe au fond du val Montjoie à 1210 m d'altitude, sur la commune des Contamines-Montjoie. A partir de 1838, le pèlerinage de Notre-Dame de La Gorge retrouve son rayonnement, la chapelle est restaurée et l'ensemble des propriétés de l'ancienne paroisse aliénées à la Révolution racheté.
Description
La chapelle est de porportions réduites. Orientée à l'ouest, elle se compose d'une nef unique de trois travées dont la première comporte une tribune et d'un choeur rectangulaire d'une travée. La sacristie se trouve derrière le choeur.

History
The chapel is situated at the bottom of the val Montjoie at 1210 m altitude, on the commune of Les Contamines-Montjoie. From 1838, the pilgrimage of Notre-Dame de La Gorge regained its influence, the chapel was restored and the whole of the properties of the former parish alienated at the Revolution were bought back.
Description
The chapel is of reduced proportions. Oriented to the west, it consists of a single nave of three bays of which the first comprises a gallery and a rectangular choir of one bay. The sacristy is located behind the choir.
