History
Parochial ensemble bearing witness to the religious life of a mountain parish between the 15th and 19th centuries. The construction of the church, chapels and oratories spans from the 15th century (chapel of Saint-Etienne at Bessans) to the end of the 19th century (chapel of Saint-Jean-Baptiste at Bessans, built in 1895). Some chapels still possess furnishings (church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, chapel of Saint-Etienne, retables of the chapels of Saint-Claude and Sainte-Marie-Madeleine) and interior decoration (paintings of the church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, of the chapels of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Sainte-Anne, Notre-Dame-des-Grâces).
