Historique
L’histoire de la chapelle Notre-Dame de l’Epine reste difficile à écrire, en raison du manque de sources la concernant. Selon l’histoire locale, elle aurait été érigée vers 1430 en l’honneur de la Vierge qui serait apparue à cet endroit au-dessus d’un buisson d’aubépine pour faire la promesse aux habitants présents que les épidémies et les guerres cesseraient. La chapelle, qui prit le nom de l’Epine en souvenir du buisson miraculeux, devint ensuite le lieu d’un pèlerinage.
Description
La chapelle est composée d’une avant-nef, plus étroite et plus basse, couverte en tuiles plates, et d’une nef, plus haute et plus large, actuellement couverte en ardoises, fermée par un chevet polygonal à trois pans. L’ensemble mesure un peu plus de 10 mètres de longueur sur 7 mètres de largeur.

History
The history of the Chapel of Notre-Dame de l'Epine remains difficult to write, due to the lack of sources concerning it. According to local history, it would have been erected around 1430 in honour of the Virgin who is said to have appeared at this place above a hawthorn bush to promise to the inhabitants present that epidemics and wars would cease. The chapel, which took the name of l'Epine in remembrance of the miraculous bush, subsequently became the place of a pilgrimage.
Description
The chapel is composed of a nave of smaller proportions, narrower and lower, covered in flat tiles, and a larger nave, higher and wider, currently covered in slate, closed by a polygonal chevet with three sections. The whole measures a little over 10 metres in length by 7 metres in width.
