History
This is one of the major fortresses of Maine extending over more than four hectares. The ensemble is distinguished by the extent of the entrenchments, the early dating of certain elements (early 11th century) as well as by the presence of one of the largest circular towers of the kingdom dating from the end of the 12th century or early 13th century.
