Historique
A la fin du XVIIIe siècle, le château d'Hurigny et un grand nombre de biens fonciers appartiennent à la famille de Montherot de Montferrand. Ces biens sont confisqués au profit de la Nation avant d'être vendus comme bien national. Le procès-verbal de la division et d'estimation de l’ensemble de bien situés de la famille Montherot de Montferrand à Hurigny, dressé le 15 vendimiaire an II, ne précise pas la localisation de chacun des biens ce qui ne permet pas de s'assurer lequel correspond à l'immeuble actuel. En 1812, le domaine est acquis par Benoît Ebrayard, il ne connaitra que trois propriétaires successifs jusqu'en 1926, date de l'acquisition de l'ensemble par le peintre Antoine Villard.
Description
L'ensemble immobilier est composé d'un corps de logis orienté nord-sud, avec retour orienté est-ouest, d'un étage sur caves et remises, sous combles. l'étage d'habitation est desservie par une galerie mâconnaise caractérisée par son ampleur et les colonnes de pierre galbée qui soutiennent l'avancée de la toiture. Un portail monumentale cintré donne accès à la cour, bordée à l'ouest par une dépendance abritant un puits.

History
At the end of the 18th century, the château d'Hurigny and a large number of landed properties belonged to the family of Montherot de Montferrand. These properties were confiscated for the benefit of the Nation before being sold as national property. The minutes of the division and valuation of the entirety of property situated belonging to the family Montherot de Montferrand at Hurigny, drawn up on the 15 vendémiaire year II, does not specify the location of each of the properties which does not allow certainty as to which corresponds to the current building. Description
The property complex is composed of a main dwelling oriented north-south, with return oriented east-west, of one storey above cellars and storage areas, under roof space. The habitation storey is served by a Mâconnais gallery characterised by its spaciousness and the curved stone columns which support the projection of the roof. A monumental arched gateway gives access to the courtyard, bordered on the west by an outbuilding housing a well.
