Castle rebuilt in 1547 in place of a fortress dating from 1298. The keep and the corner towers of the outbuildings are then attached to the latter. In 1728, construction of the cellar which connects the two towers already in place. A plan of 1768 shows a complex ensemble of buildings distributed around four courtyards and a parterre, the main dwelling situated principally in the western part, the lower courtyard to the south-east, surrounded by stable and gardening buildings, the wine-house to the north. Significant transformations were carried out in 1860: destruction of the walls, the corner tower and the agricultural buildings closing the south-east side of the castle and the south of the courtyard of honour; remodelling of the façades in the neo-Gothic taste; construction of new outbuildings; eclectic decoration of the interiors; creation of a park by the Bühler brothers.
