Monument emblématique de l'architecture militaire médiévale du Charolais. L'ensemble se développe autour d'une cour et se compose d'une haute tour quadrangulaire coiffée d'une toiture en pavillon et flanquée de quatre échauguettes circulaires. Sur la façade est de la tour maîtresse est accolé un corps de logis. Cheminées monumentales. Au sud de cette enceinte s'élève une tour circulaire abritant une chapelle et un pigeonnier. Dans la pente du terrain vers la cours de l'Arconce, s'étend une garenne déjà mentionnée dans les textes du 16e siècle. L'ensemble castral peut être daté du 14e et du 15e siècle, avec quelques transformations au 17e.

History
Emblematic monument of medieval military architecture of the Charolais. The ensemble develops around a courtyard and consists of a tall quadrangular tower topped with a pavilion roof and flanked by four circular bartizans. On the east façade of the master tower is attached a dwelling. Monumental fireplaces. To the south of this enclosure rises a circular tower housing a chapel and a dovecote. On the slope of the terrain towards the Arconce court, extends a warren already mentioned in texts of the 16th century. The entire castle ensemble can be dated to the 14th and 15th centuries, with some alterations in the 17th century.
