Historique

History
The history of the building remains to be clarified. On the basis of an earlier medieval building - whose remaining structural elements are poorly known - , a construction campaign could date to the 16th century. A fire in 1637 led to major transformations. The 18th century (between 1736 and 1762-1766), then the 19th century (c. 1826-1873), caused further campaigns of reconstruction or enlargement. The church today comprises a single nave of three bays, vaulted with groin vaults; three lateral chapels (to the north, chapel of the Rosary or of Saint Barbara; to the north, under the bell tower, chapel of the bell tower or of the daughters of the Conference; to the south, chapel of the Guardian Angel or of the Five Wounds); a transept with two lateral altars; a sanctuary of a single bay with a flat chevet; a bell tower predating 1637, but raised in 1762-1766. The interior comprises numerous items of furnishings (pulpit, retable, paintings, statues) and silverware protected as objects under the title of historic monuments.
